Someone has rightly quoted The Earth with “Art” is Eh which is true in all means. The world without Art is really very boring. Art with its many forms like music, dance, painting, singing, and acting helps us to break away from the stress and allow us to engage in an activity which we enjoy or rather passionate about. It is also observed that we normally get positive response on such activities and it does really work positively on adults as well as children. Through Art therapy we can bring about a lot of positive changes in people. Art is where the mind is. Recent research explains the importance of art and that focused training on any of the art forms like music, dance or painting and strengthens the brains attention system.
Color and painting
Use colours to enhance you mind. Colours vibrant as they are always help to enhance the mind. The splash of colours means a lot. Bright colors speak a lot. Colors effect our interactions, health, growth, behavior as well. Different colors stand for different moods like dark colors lowers stress and makes us more peaceful, light colors can make you feel aggressive and in some cases nervous. A bright color conjures a sense of happiness. After all there is lot of power in color. Painting or expressing through canvas painting, sketching portraits, are the different form of creative art.
Music and singing
Music enhances healing, learning and most of all our attitudes. Listening to soothing music helps to manage stress, anxiety. Learning to play any musical instrument or practicing voice training (singing) helps create neural pathways according to neuroscientists. The best example is listening to music while exercising as this soothes are mind and we can end up doing more lapses or round listening to music. One way of treating Alzheimer’s patients is through music therapy which helps them to reconnect and recover some of their past memories. All you need to know is which music positively affects your brain. Learning to play any music instrument stimulates your mind.
Drama and theatre
If you like theatre and drama then this form of art also definitely will enhance your mind. Exploring these areas will definitely help in improving your mind, to deepen you skill and broaden your horizon. Encourage children to actively participate in school plays. According to Jones, “Theater addresses the skills which benefit children’s education and development in five general areas: physical development/kinesthetic skills, artistic development /drama and theater skills, mental development/thinking skills, personal development/
Intra-personal skills, and social development/interpersonal skills.” That’s enhancement of many skills altogether.
Any form of art be it dance, drama, singing, music, painting all depends on your passion to learn them and believe me there can be no other natural remedy as art to enhance you mind. There are as you can see obvious reason too: improved self-confidence, better public speaking skills, creative mind, and working as a team in overcome obstacles to achieve a goal. Art be it creative or performing is a rewarding experience. I end with a positive note from Richard W Riley, former Us Secretary of education who says
“I believe arts education in music, theater, dance, and the visual arts is one of the most creative ways we have to find the gold that is buried just beneath the surface. They (children) have an enthusiasm for life a spark of creativity, and vivid imaginations that need training – training that prepare them to become confident young men and women.”
